Our Customer, a Design Engineering Company, is currently hiring for their team!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports junior and senior electrical engineers in a team environment.
- Prepares simple to moderately complex engineering drawings using 2D computer-aided design software, and supporting calculations and documentation.
- Design traffic signalization and street lighting systems for municipal/provincial road projects.
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings and specifications.
- Generates drawings in various formats for approval and/or use by project stakeholders.
- Understands electrical distribution systems in order to design and modify drawings.
- Performs project administration functions included but not limited to drawing distribution and management, coordination, and communication with project stakeholders.
- Understands and follows utility and municipal standards.
- Maintains project information, drawings, files, spreadsheets, and records.
- Attends design and project coordination meetings as required.
- Summarizes parts and materials from available literature and database.
- Performs subdivision inspections for assumption reviews.
- Performs contract administration functions including tender, award, quantity review, completion, and assumption work.
- Works occasional evenings or weekends to meet deadlines.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of college program in Civil or Electrical Engineering Technical c/w drafting/CAD training.
- Traffic Signal Experience is mandatory.
- Understanding of electrical distribution systems preferred.
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Detailed working knowledge of Autocad and MicroStation drafting software.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills -- good command of the English language, written and oral.
- Able to work well in a team environment, with minimal supervision.
- Creative and detail-oriented independent thinker.
- Prepared to work occasional evenings or weekends.
- Must have a valid Ontario driver's license and own car.
Location: Vaughan or Hamilton. Minimum 2 days at one of the offices. Travel locally in the Toronto area to do site visits to customers. The rest of the time WFH.
