Communications paths include users, peers, management, network operations center personnel, customers and associated vendor trouble reporting systems.

Maintain and support a fully functional network that meets or exceeds business and customer requirements

Assist with the design of LAN and WAN communications systems and environments, which include hardware, software, authentication, access methods and protocols used.

Assist with the design and implementation of LAN-to-LAN, WAN-to-WAN, and WAN-to-LAN communications and connections. Also, designs for control, flexibility, scalability, and adaptability.

Identification and resolution of hardware and software technical problems and malfunctions related to LANs/WANs and related systems.

Uses necessary tools and processes to identify and correct problems

Ensures a stable performance environment for the enterprise applications.

Participates in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the telecommunications infrastructure.

Broad and in-depth knowledge of Ethernet; Must understand the four basic elements of Ethernet.

Working knowledge of router technology

Working knowledge of voice communications and voice over IP technology.

Working knowledge of network technology, operating systems, and applications

3 to 5 years hands on experience with PDS/Structured Cabling Systems
-
3 to 5 years hands on experience with multiple vendor L2/L3 switching equipment
-
3 to 5 years hands on experience with Alcatel-Lucent or Cisco routers
-
3 to 5 years experience with a large TCP/IP network
-
