Our client, a well-established full-service firm with a strong business law and financial services practice, is seeking a Banking \& Financing Lawyer to join their North York office. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with experience in insolvency, restructuring, and non-litigious banking matters to work alongside a collaborative team representing major financial institutions, trustees, and private lenders.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
• Advise banks and private lenders on banking operations, compliance, and risk management
• Provide strategic counsel in insolvency and restructuring matters involving trustees and receivers
• Act as lead or supporting counsel in complex commercial financing transactions, including:

- Secured and unsecured lending

- Asset-based and equipment financing

- Inventory and floor planning

- Real estate and construction lending

- Letters of credit and commercial paper
• Work closely with the firm's Corporate and Litigation teams to deliver integrated legal solutions
✅ Qualifications:
• 3--10 years of experience in banking, insolvency, or commercial finance law
• Solid understanding of debtor-creditor law and regulatory banking matters
• Skilled in transaction structuring, negotiation, and drafting
• Practical, business-oriented legal approach
