🔧 Systems Administrator -- SCOM Specialist

Are you a proactive Systems Administrator with a strong background in infrastructure, monitoring, and automation? Do you have hands-on experience with Microsoft SCOM and want to apply your skills on impactful public sector projects?
We're hiring on behalf of a well-established Ontario Crown Corporation for a 6-month contract (with a strong potential for extension). This is your chance to join a high-performance IT team in a hybrid role located in Downtown Toronto, just 2 days onsite per week.
🚀 What You'll Do:
- Lead administration and support of Microsoft SCOM 2022, including configuration, upgrades, and custom monitoring.
- Integrate SCOM with OpenText Operations Bridge (OBM) for advanced event and metrics tracking.
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell scripting.
- Deploy SNMP and agent-based monitoring for a variety of systems and network devices.
- Design and manage custom monitoring for services like Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, SQL, F5, Citrix NetScaler, and storage platforms.
- Troubleshoot system alerts, network issues, and agent performance to maintain optimal operations.
- Create meaningful reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to track performance and issues.
✅ What You Bring:
- 3--5 years' experience in SCOM administration, Active Directory, and infrastructure operations.
- Proven skills in PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Experience with backup/recovery tools and monitoring systems.
- Strong understanding of server, network, and application monitoring in enterprise environments.
🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Exposure to Azure Backup , OpsBridge , or Grafana
- Experience with Ansible Tower , Terraform, or other automation tools
- Public sector or Crown corporation experience is a strong asset

The target hiring compensation range for this role is 55/hr-65/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
