The Canadian Sugar Institute (CSI) is a national, non-profit association with strategic priorities in the areas of nutrition science, communications, and international trade. CSI maintains a Nutrition Information Centre that aims to gather and share up-to-date research and evidence-based information about sugars, nutrition, and health. CSI is looking for a Coordinator, Nutrition Communications, to fill a permanent full-time position.
Objective of the Position:
To provide support in developing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition-related programs, communications, and research initiatives, with a key focus on nutrition communications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain current scientific knowledge of sugars, nutrition, and health and key issue areas
- Assist in planning, organizing and executing nutrition-related projects, education events and other initiatives.
- Collaborate in the development of print and digital nutrition communications materials including fact sheets, infographics, website development, and social media content.
- Apply key principles in knowledge translation to improve the effectiveness of CSI's communications.
- Assist in CSI's research activities including the preparation of research summaries, report preparation and presentations.
- Utilize appropriate measurement tools to monitor and evaluate effectiveness of projects and resources.
- Build and maintain relationships internally and externally in support of CSI nutrition objectives
- Assist with other research, communications and administrative activities, as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Dietitian with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nutrition; Master's degree with emphasis in nutrition communications strongly preferred. Registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
- Minimum 2-years' experience in the field of public health, community health, or non-profit sector.
- Demonstrated application of knowledge in dietetics and communication strategies and nutrition education.
- French language skills are an asset.

- Project management and time management skills; able to set and manage priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively to identify new opportunities for nutrition communications and to use effective channels for nutrition education.
- Effective knowledge and proficient use of information technology, social media platforms, and infographic development software (Canva). Experience in website maintenance and Google Analytics an asset.

Office Location:Toronto Downtown (Hybrid, 3 days/week in the office)
Term: Full-time, permanent position
Salary:Dependent on the candidate's experience and qualifications
