Reporting to the Head of Digital \& Customer Experience (D\&CX), the Manager, Ancillary Revenue \& Retail is a highly collaborative role that is ultimately responsible for ancillary revenue offerings, including the development and execution of strategic business plans. The broad purview of this role includes in-terminal and digital offerings, as well as food and beverage. This role leads the day-to-day management of ancillary revenue offerings, leads and contributes to cross functional projects as they relate to ancillary revenue, and works with the senior leadership team to develop the ancillary revenue strategy.
WORK HOURS: Office hours (weekend and evenings as needed) LOCATION: Vancouver TERM: Full Time Regular DEPARTMENT: Commercial COMPENSATION: Competitive salary, full medical and dental and other industry benefits including interline flight partners Responsibilities and Expectations Ancillary Revenue Development Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy focused on: Optimizing existing ancillary revenue streams. Identifying and establishing new revenue opportunities throughout the passenger journey with a digital-first approach. Expanding and enhancing merchandise offerings across the network.
Business Plan Execution: Lead the development and execution of strategic business plans and projects that align with the overarching strategy for ancillaries and merchandise Merchandise, Food and Beverage Management Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations related to ancillary revenue functions, including: Developing and implementing processes and procedures in collaboration with the Ground Services team. Managing procurement, inventory, movement, and storage of all Harbour Air branded apparel and hard goods. Establishing, managing, and reporting on budgets, financial performance, and key performance metrics.
Building and maintaining relationships with vendors, including negotiating contract terms to ensure favourable agreements. Strategic management of freight offering in collaboration with Ground Services for day to day operations. Optimization and Innovation: Drive commercial and operational improvements across merchandise, food, and beverage offerings by: Continuously optimizing merchandise assortment and ensuring alignment with brand standards.
Designing and refining Harbour Air branded goods. Collaborating with the Ground Services team to enhance food and beverage offerings across all bases. Monitoring industry trends related to ancillary revenue, retail, and customer experience, providing regular insights and reports.
Project Management and Participation Project Management: Lead and manage applicable cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and timelines. Department Representation: Serve as the primary representative for the Merchandise \& Ancillaries department in crossfunctional projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration Team Management \& Development Leadership \& Development: Manage and mentor a direct report (1 FTE) and effectively leverage supplementary resources as needed. Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, development, and performance management.
Ensure alignment of team activities with overall ancillary revenue strategy and organizational goals. Other Other duties as required Qualifications/Assets IDEAL EXPERIENCE 5 years of experience in a retail function with physical goods. Familiar with end-to-end merchandising of physical goods, including ordering, inventory management, reporting, commercial management.
