The Legal Services Division of the City of Toronto is seeking lawyers for 2 full-time permanent municipal lawyer positions.
ONE PERMANENT POSITION
Salary Range: $161,012.52 to $207,026.91
(Commensurate with experience)
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of post-call experience. You will work as part of a team to provide legal advice and support primarily to the City's Fire Services and Toronto Paramedic Services Divisions including on procurement matters and agreements, privacy matters, agreements with other levels of government, drafting by-laws, preparing legal opinions and providing general legal support.
ONE 3-YEAR CONTRACT POSITION
Salary Range: $128,976.46 to $207,026.91
(Commensurate with experience)
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of post-call experience. You will work as part of a team to provide legal advice and support various City Divisions including on agreements, by-laws, privacy matters, preparing legal opinions and providing general legal support. Experience in Indigenous law would be an asset.
For each position you must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well ass negotiation and drafting skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide sound legal advice, information and direction to senior management and staff.
