Role Summary
The AP Associate will be responsible for processing accounts payable in accordance with company policies and industry best practices. This role is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Accountabilities:
- Process accounts payable in a timely manner, specifically relating to inventory, supply chain, capital, and maintenance.
- Gather payable invoices via email, postal mail, and vendor portals.
- Perform three-way match on PO-based invoices.
- Coordinate manual approval on invoices not requiring purchase orders.
- Evaluate invoice approvals and receiving paperwork to ensure compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.
- Prepare weekly payment batches.
- Work with internal stakeholders to resolve issues that prevent invoice processing.
- Communicate with vendors as necessary (vendor liaison).
- Carefully adhere to all company policies, especially those related to security and fraud prevention.
- Make routine accruals and other entries at month-end.
- Assist in gathering information for year-end and interim audits.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and colleagues across the organization.
Qualifications:
- 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable, specifically relating to inventory.
- Manufacturing experience is mandatory.
- Post Secondary Education in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
- Organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with ERP accounting software, preferably MS Dynamics Business Central, is an asset.
- Experience with SAP Concur is an asset.
