Tomlinson is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Business Analyst to join our team. Reporting to the Division Controller, the successful candidate will work primarily with the Environmental Division, with opportunities to work with other divisions of the group. The analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to drive business growth in addition to implementing tools to ensure billing accuracy and profitability. The position will also assist the sales and operations teams with tools and data to enhance business processes. This role is crucial in supporting our commitment to building trusted relationships with our customers and achieving the highest standards in our operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- With the input of the Division Controller and GM's, design, implement, and maintain KPIs, dashboards and exception reports to monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to the management team.
- Ensure quality control and integrity for all data sources and coach all team members on the value of accurate data to the business.
- Work with the SAP/AI team to map and extract data from various sources to present a unified picture.
- Maintain market pricing tables for key commodities and waste streams as key inputs to operational decisions.
- Conduct regular reviews of major customer accounts to ensure billing accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements.
- Identify discrepancies and work with relevant departments to rectify any issues.
- Monitor profitability metrics and provide reports to senior management.
- Support Division Controller to prepare financial analysis of performance of the business units and preparation of monthly presentations to senior management.
- Assist the Sales Manager by developing tools and providing analysis to support the quoting process including building cost models for major tender submissions.
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Commerce in Business, Finance or Economics or a related field.
- Proven experience in data analysis, pricing strategies and account management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and ability to drive for personal and organizational goals.
- Experience with accounting ERP software, preferably SAP.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
