JOB SUMMARY: Duties and Responsibilities:
- CQE duties include a primary focus as the plant quality liaison while interfacing with manufacturing engineering and product engineering to support Quality initiatives, protect product design intent and function and assist in the development of solutions to manufacturing constraints.
- Explore production, quality, and customer concerns, using practical problem-solving reports and other advanced problem solving techniques (Shainin Red X, 6 Sigma, Kaizen). Initiate Eight Step Discipline Reports and facilitate cross-functional team from discovery to closure.
- Coordinate the PPAP (Product Part Approval Process) for new programs, engineering changes and process improvements. Direct Liaison with Customers for internal changes and lead Cross Functional Team in the Change Management process.
- Collect data as required, report on the root causes with supportive data, and recommend solutions to manufacturing operations and/or product engineering to correct the problem Assist in the maintenance of all IATF documentation and review of all procedures on an annual basis.
- "Represent the Voice of the Customer" by Coordinating, Managing, and Facilitating the Quality Department to achieve "Ultimate Customer Satisfaction" at a business unit level
- Maintain and submit business unit consolidated reports as needed, such as customer PPM, customer scorecards, etc.
- Monitor customer Quality related web sites for compliance and current requirements as needed for the business unit, identifying and escalating high impact issues.
- Assist in month-end / regular reports (External PPM report, Quality Issues, Scorecard, Supplier Top 5, Supplier Performance Feedback System Reports, Quality Web Site), are maintained accurately and submitted on time.
- Support compliance to IATF16949 and all customer specific requirements through both development and maintenance.
- Travel to customers, vendors and suppliers as necessary. Generate and distribute visitation reports.
- Complete all other duties, as directed by the Quality Manager.

Education and Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, with 5-7years experience in the automotive industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ISO/IATF-16949. Certified Internal/Lead Auditor a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to permit effective interaction with all levels of Dana and external customers.
- Computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office and Minitab.
- Self-directed and motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and accepts responsibility.
Experience Required
- 5-7 years as a Quality Engineer in the Automotive industry.
- Excellent computer skills (Windows Office)
- Working knowledge of MiniTab or equivalent.
- Proficient in Blueprint Reading, Specification Reading, and Measurements
- Proficient in capability studies, Gauge R\&R studies, SPC, and GD\&T.
- Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
