Job Description: Overview What you will do
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in a variety of areas, including but not limited to estate and commercial litigation.
- Conduct legal research, analysis and assessment to support team.
- Address complaints against Trustees and interpret estate and trust documents and oversee the winding up of trusts and the passing of accounts.
- Address contract and commercial disputes and oversee litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution.
- Represent clients in negotiations, Mediations, Hearings and Court proceedings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Stay informed on relevant areas of law and participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
What you bring to the role
- 2 year of call and in good standing with the Law Society
- Experience in litigation from a reputable firm (commercial, estates or both)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and a practical and pragmatic style toward providing expert legal solutions
- The ability to balance the demands of an emerging practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as administrative and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-driven, detail-oriented and hard-working
- Resourcefulness and able to work with a high level of autonomy
- Must be highly entrepreneurial, with excellent academic credentials and attention to detail, and will be expected to consistently deliver timely, high quality legal advice
