About the Position:

Main responsibilities will include:
- Connection Design: Develop connections for 3D modeling and provide engineering solutions to support the fabrication, detailing, and erection of structural steel.
- Project Involvement: Participate in project kick-off meetings to discuss scope, schedule, and budget, and address any challenges. Review project completion plans.
- Leadership Opportunities: Lead entire projects or portions of projects, depending on your experience and abilities.
- Technical Support: Resolve construction-related issues and provide technical support for field erection.
- Client Representation: Represent Walters in technical meetings with clients, design engineers, and architects.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek and implement continuous improvement and innovative approaches.
Work Location:
- Head office in Hamilton, ON.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Junior professionals/new grads are still encouraged to apply!
- Education: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Steel specialization a strong asset.
- Skills: Strong creative problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills to manage changing priorities flexibly. Above-average proficiency in Excel is also an asset.
- Communication: Exceptional listening and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience & Technical Knowledge: Experience in steel connection design is an asset, but we encourage candidates with a solid understanding of first principles in steel design and a growth mindset to apply.
