Are you the one we're looking for?
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Manager, Client Support Services and Employment who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment to our clients, families, and each other.
Accountable to the Director of Newcomers \& Employment Services, the Manager, Client Support Services (CSS) and Employment will deliver operations for the Client Support Services Program operated by Wesley in Hamilton and Brantford.
The role works in collaboration with the Manager for the CSS program, the Supervisor, and the CSS team to deliver direct services for newcomers that are aligned with Wesley's vision, mission, values, and strategic plan.
This position is a non-unionized, full-time, permanent position. The salary is $65,961 per year. This position is 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide support and assign work to supervisor and front-line staff to ensure the effective, efficient operation of the portfolio within the general policies and guidelines of Wesley and best practices for the sector.

Work with the supervisor and front-line staff to implement the day to day operational plans for the portfolio.

Actively participate in the resolution of all program issues, from day-to-day issues to formal disciplinary / dispute resolution processes.

Work with the supervisor and staff to ensure that all relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines are met by each program, including maintaining accurate program and service records as per funder and organizational requirements.

Coach and support the supervisor and front-line Staff to develop and expand on skills to apply best practices and improve service delivery.

Work with the supervisor and front-line staff to execute procedures to manage and mitigate risks to the organization.

Liaise with community service providers regarding the needs of the program and education partners on the role and scope of the program's work.
What you will bring:
-
Minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience at the Management level in the not for profit or public sector.

University or College level degree in social work or related fields.
-
Experience developing and leading programs focused on supporting and delivering settlement services supporting government assisted refugees and other migrants.

Experience managing in a unionized environment an asset.

Knowledge of the community and not for profit organizations with the ability to connect and work collaboratively with all individuals who are interested in forwarding the organization's Vision.

Understanding of the vision, mission, values and history of Wesley.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Understanding of legislation and best practices applicable to the program.

Ability to handle sensitive information effectively and confidentially.

Experience in preparing funding proposals and a track record in sourcing new funding streams.

Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable in making presentations to groups of all sizes.

Ability to prioritize and make decisions using solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

Budgets and Finance
-
Work with Supervisor to monitor approved budget to meet program and financial goals.

Maintain appropriate controls over supervisor and front-line Staff spending including petty cash and other program purchases.

Provide accurate and timely reports as required.
Human Resources
-
Train, coach and mentor supervisor and front-line Staff through regular supervisions using tools and models introduced through Invest in our People.

Maintain accurate records for all personal information in compliance with privacy legislation and organizational policies.

Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.

Source and (if applicable) deliver training to the supervisor and front-line staff and ensure all mandatory training is up to date.

Lead on successfully navigating HR policies and procedures related to discipline and termination of employees, and identify areas of risk related to HR to the Program Director on an ongoing basis.

Participate directly in the hiring of the supervisor and front-line staff.

Directly support supervisor and front-line staff to ensure that teams are implementing effective health and safety procedures and monitoring and reporting mechanisms in each program in order to promote and ensure the safety and well-being of staff, clients, and volunteers.
Leadership Team
-
Participate as a member of the Managers team.

Provide advice to the Program Director in terms of best practice, effectiveness, quality and day to day operations related to the program area.

Make procedural and operational recommendations as necessary in any area of management within your purview; program, human resource, operational, health and safety, personal information management, IT.
Resources Development
- Work with Program Director to provide program information and success stories to Resource Development Department to assist in marketing Wesley to donors.
