The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Board Specialist to support the operations of our Board of Advisors. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with senior executives in an organization that stands for a mission. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Board Chair to ensure board activities are well-organized, documented, and communicated clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule board and committee meetings
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and relevant documentation
- Maintain accurate records of board activities and decisions
- Support onboarding of new board members
- Ensure clear and timely communication between board members
- Track action items and follow-ups from meetings
Qualifications:
- Completed post-secondary education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with email, document-sharing platforms (e.g., Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Zoom)
- High attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential information
- Previous experience supporting a board, committee, or executive team is an asset
