Skills, Qualifications And Educational Requirements
- Education Expertise: Graduate of a College of Applied Arts \& Technology in Educational Assistance and Adult Supports (preferred), Autism Behavioural Sciences, Child and Youth Worker, or possess equivalent post-secondary training.
- Valuable Experience: Previous experience in an Educational Assistant role within diverse classroom settings is a notable asset, demonstrating your ability to navigate various educational environments.
- Mobility and Dedication: Access to reliable transportation, coupled with your enthusiasm to work in multiple DSBN school locations throughout the Niagara region.
- Physical Agility: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods. Your capability to move and carry equipment for program activities is an essential contribution.
- Supportive Strength: Showcase your commitment to the well-being of students by demonstrating your capacity to physically assist children, including lifting. Your dedication may involve meeting physical demands analysis when necessary.
- Emergency Preparedness: Preferred certification in Standard First Aid/CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Behavioural Management Systems (BMS) underscore your commitment to creating a safe and secure learning environment.
- Trust and Transparency: Provision of a satisfactory Police Clearance including a Vulnerable Sector Police Check from the last 6 months (or ability to obtain one). This commitment is a fundamental condition of employment.
