We're seeking professionals to join our team as Lease Admin Manager to develop and manage strategic approaches that maximize landlord-supplied allowances and benefits across our real estate leases. These roles will support both regional and global lease administration functions, ensuring efficient management of the Firm's property portfolio. You will play a key role in overseeing lease administration while collaborating with various teams to support the Firm's real estate strategies.
In the Corporate Services division, we provide solutions that enable Morgan Stanley's workforce, across our global workplace locations, to effectively and efficiently work in the service of our clients.
This is a director-level position within Corporate Real Estate, which is responsible for overseeing the management, workplace design and leasing activities of the Firm's properties. May also include the purchasing of properties and all related responsibilities.
What You'll Do In The Role
Develop a thorough understanding of the strategy for using landlord-supplied allowances and benefits, including related contractual terms and critical dates
Regularly meet with the Lease Admin team to review critical dates and lease schedules
Host meetings with the Project Management team to track the progression of strategies against project schedules
Engage with the Transaction Management and Real Estate Legal teams for resolution of any landlord or lease-related issues
Review data and documents compiled by third-party service providers for compliance with lease terms
Support the lease audit process, validate opportunities identified in audits, and track progress of claims and recoveries
Support process for disposition of leased office space as approved by management, including development of RFPs, review of subleases, review of financial and operational analyses and working with Property Services team.
Support other strategic real estate projects, including select strategic acquisitions of leased office space, integration of new business locations, strategic real estate tax work, development of lease related dashboards and reporting
Collaborate with Financial Control and other Corporate Services teams to assess financial impacts and strategic real estate decisions
Work with other CS functional real estate teams (Property Management, Capital Projects, Transactions and Portfolio Management, Employee and Guest Workplace Solutions, Workplace Design, Global Centers) as issues warrant to understand costs, schedule, and other related issues under strategic review.
Role
Interact with CS Real Estate Legal on matters related to allowances or other lease related questions. What you'll bring to the role:
BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA/MS or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience, preferably including exposure to office leasing, audit practices, and lease administration
Strong accounting, finance, and analytical skills
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management, organizational, and attention to detail skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
