Position Overview Experience

Three (3) years of experience as a recognized journeyman within the last five (5) years.

Experience working with control systems, in the service, maintenance, and operations of those equipment components.

Completion of grade twelve (12) education or equivalent.

Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Licensed as a Journeyman Instrumentation and Control Technician or Electrician or Electrical Technician/Technologist (CET) or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic as recognized by the Province of Manitoba.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of various types of mechanical equipment and their functions.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and their purpose.
- Knowledge of basic safe work legislation and practices.
- Knowledge of Fire Codes and C.S.A standards.
- Knowledge of and ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment, and ability to prioritize accordingly.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and display independent judgment where appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to perform appropriate calculations as required.

- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
- Good work and attendance record.
- Must be able to withstand periods of strenuous activity and be able to work from ladders, scaffolding, high level platforms or in confined spaces and enclosures.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
Physical Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
- Manual dexterity required.
- May be required to work in a variety of temperatures including excessive heat or cold.
- May be required to be on call evenings and weekends as necessary.
- May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
- May be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
