About the role
Our Business Advisors (BA) are customer-centric and able to connect with people in a relatable way. As essential members of the Canadian Banking network, they focus on providing exceptional service throughout the customer's journey by:
- Managing an assigned portfolio of high-value and/or complex business owner relationships to achieve retention and other negotiated goals while meeting Scotiabank's Service Standards.
- Creating a strong presence within the local business community by developing relationships with Centres of Influence.
- Proactively engaging with new and existing clients to build strong, ongoing relationships and provide comprehensive advice to help them build successful businesses.
- Partnering with fellow advisors to create a customer-centric environment.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Possess a results-oriented attitude with knowledge of the business banking market, including features and benefits of business products and services, understanding of financial statements, risk management policies, and legal/security documentation.
- Demonstrate excellent business development skills and familiarity with legal structures, business life cycles, competitor offerings, and financing sources.
- Have good organizational skills and adaptability to a changing environment.
- Be a strong relationship builder and communicator, enjoy meeting people, and collaborate effectively.
- Possess an education in a business-related discipline or equivalent work experience as a business owner.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.

Language requirements (QC jobs only):
The successful candidate must communicate in both English and French to serve an English-speaking clientele, based on a language needs assessment.
