Dietary Aide, Food \& Nutrition Services - Parkwood Institute Main Building
Join our team as a Dietary Aide at the Food \& Nutrition Services department of Parkwood Institute Main Building, located in London, ON. This part-time position offers a salary range of $27.66 - $27.86 per hour.
Our department provides comprehensive food and nutrition services to patients and residents across all sites of St. Joseph's Health Care London. We are committed to delivering nutrition care that nourishes the body, mind, and spirit, emphasizing local purchasing, seasonal on-site vegetable growing, composting, and waste reduction. Our operations run on various shifts from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week.
We value teamwork, respect, continuous improvement, and excellence in service, food quality, and safety. Training and educational opportunities are available for our staff. Hours are subject to change based on scheduling needs.
Essential Qualifications
- Secondary (High) School Diploma
- Safe Food Handlers certification or successful completion within six months of hire
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Healthcare setting, in compliance with OHSA
- Knowledge of institutional food service, therapeutic diets, and safe food handling
- Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to read and write English
- Physical ability to bend, stand, walk, and lift up to 28 kg
- Strong customer service commitment
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment, independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French (asset)
- Previous experience in food service
Additional Information
As part of St. Joseph's Health Care London, affiliated with Western University and Fanshawe College, employees are expected to engage in related teaching and research activities alongside their clinical duties. Immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID-19, and influenza is required, along with proof of TB testing.
