About the position
Reporting to the Centre Director, the Assistant Director acts as an integral member of the Kids \& Company team, responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of a specific childcare center. This involves the conscientious application of Kids \& Company standards to achieve our mission: to provide quality primary and backup childcare services conveniently located near our children's parents' workplaces. We aim to assist corporations in creating a healthy work/life balance.
Responsibilities
- Support children's emotional, physical, and behavioral well-being; help develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills
- Maintain documentation, reporting, and record keeping
- Implement an emergent curriculum
- Maintain attendance, health, and safety checks
- Collaborate with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Early Interventionists as necessary
- Support children through transitions in and out of classrooms
- Meet all classroom ratios as outlined in CCEYA
- Participate in and help lead staff meetings and workshops
- Assist the Centre Director with child/staff files and other ministry requirements
Requirements
- Registered with the College of ECEs and in good standing
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Up-to-date immunization records and two-step TB test
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds
