Job Description Electrical Engineer Location Burlington, ON L7P 1A5 :
Provide designs in line with the project requirements and CK Engineering standards. You will be accountable for the delivery of designs under the direction of a manager. The following is a list of some of the key responsibilities of this position.
· Attend design meetings with Architects and other engineers.
· Deliver complex design drawings for permit and tender using drafters.
· Devise practical and economical solutions to various problems requiring original thinking and ingenuity.
· Plan, organize and coordinate technical aspects of one or more projects.
· Extensive use and understanding of discipline specific drafting/design software and/or extensive design experience in a particular discipline.
· Participate in the development and implementation of work criteria, standards, procedures, and methods.
· Visit work sites in your own vehicle to collect site information as required.
· Knowledge and application of the latest Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
· Ability to size cables, conduits, breakers, electrical panels, generators, ATS's and UPS's as per the latest Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
· Knowledge and application of the latest Ontario Building Code as it relates to Fire Alarm, lighting and emergency lighting.
· Knowledge of application of ASHRAE 90.1 as it relates to lighting and power densities.
· Provide detailed lighting calculations for interiors as well as site plans.
· Coordinate building systems components with other building systems and other design disciplines including architectural, mechanical and structural engineers.
