Canterbury, a leading Canadian coffee roaster dedicated to sourcing, roasting, and distributing premium coffee, is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Key Account Manager to drive the growth and performance of our branded coffee portfolio across Canada's top retail accounts.
This role is focused exclusively on managing national and regional retail customers and will be responsible for building customer relationships, executing sales strategies, and expanding our presence in grocery, mass, and club channels. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in CPG retail sales, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for driving brand performance at shelf.

Strategic Account Management
- Lead day-to-day management and long-term planning for assigned retail key accounts, distributors and broker relationship
- Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with Canterbury's branded product growth targets, while collaborating with Marketing on innovation opportunities and line extensions
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the main point of contact for all branded retail initiatives
- Conduct regular business reviews, track performance vs. targets, and adjust strategies as needed
Sales \& Distribution Strategy
- Drive increased branded product distribution, share of shelf, and pricing compliance across retail partners
- Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing) to deliver seamless execution at store level
- Monitor monthly sales performance and develop rolling forecasts. Identify risks and opportunities, and proactively implement actions to address gaps
- Work closely with broker and distributor partners and their field teams to ensure alignment and flawless retail execution
Retail Promotions \& Activation
- Plan and execute retailer-specific promotional programs in collaboration with the Marketing team\Coordinate with marketing to ensure brand consistency and optimal timing for promotional periods
- Monitor and analyze the ROI of trade activity and be on top of improvements to future retail programs
Reporting \& Insights
- Challenge the broker reports and using the information to reflect action....Deliver regular reporting on sales, promotional effectiveness, and competitive activity
- Analyze market and customer data to uncover trends, inform decisions, and support strategic planning
- Communicate learnings and best practices internally to drive retail channel success
- Act as the internal voice of the market, providing insights to guide planning and execution. Responsible for quarterly forecasting of all branded items
Travel
- Required to travel to meet with key retail partners, nurture client relationships, and represent the company at industry events and trade shows
- Represent the face of our brand---building connections, identifying opportunities, and driving growth on the ground where it matters most
Salary Range
- $72,000.00 To $85,000.00 annually dependent on experience.

You have
- 5 years of Key Account Management experience in the Canadian CPG retail environment
- Experience managing and collaborating with broker partners to drive in-store execution and account success
- Deep knowledge of the Canadian grocery, mass, and club channels
- Demonstrated ability to manage branded products and grow share in competitive retail environments
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior-level retail buyers
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and retail sales analytics tools
- Knowledge of NielsenIQ data
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
