Job Description
- Assists the principal Point-of-Contact for the acquisition, calibration/repair, auditing, tracking/control, reassignment, shipping, and disposal of assets. Accordingly, the role includes inventory management, reporting, and customer relation for all EMSL service requests.
- Assists with the execution of annual calibration events for facilities.
- Operates, tests, installs, and maintains test equipment using standard approaches and/or equipment with guidance and support from others.
- Performs preventive maintenance, and repairs manufacturing "core equipment" and assembly tools using standard approaches and/or equipment with broad guidance and support from equipment supplier or others. Maintains system software backup and updates to newest software versions to ensure the smooth running.
- Identifies and resolves technical issues including troubleshooting circuits from system to component level and performing rework/repairs (e.g. mechanical assembly).
- Records/documents, understands, identifies and interprets schematic diagrams, drawings, parts lists, bills of materials, assembly processes, quality tracking systems, failure reports, quality charts, process routing sheets, acceptance test procedures, calibration and tests results.
- Troubleshoots complex circuits, equipment, and tools from system to component level, using knowledge of complex technical data (i.e. difficult to analyze, understand or solve, such as printed circuit board density, etc.) Performs rework as required (mechanical assembly, basic soldering); identifies and resolves technical issues.
- Performs data analysis using appropriate software tools and provides technical summary reports.
- Creates and/or updates departmental instructions (e.g. ODI), calibration procedures, Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESD) procedures, and CORE equipment maintenance procedures including Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) equipment.
- Conducts calibration, ESD material testing, ESD verification and ESD labs audit, preventative and corrective maintenance, and runs equipment self-test, ESS performance baseline test routines, on various conventional, numerical control, and computer numerical control machinery (e.g. power supply, press, temperature chamber, or vibration tables), peripherals and controls. Documents results in applicable asset and maintenance tracking database system.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications

Requires a three year College Diploma as an Electronics Engineering Technologist or Electrical Engineering Technologist or equivalent

2 years of related calibration work experience including manufacturing core equipment

2 years experience in the following:

obtaining quotes, placing orders, and following up on orders with suppliers;

creating and/or updating departmental instructions (e.g. ODI) , calibration procedures, Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESD) procedures, and CORE equipment maintenance procedures and,
-
system diagnostics programming (e.g. LabVIEW programming, C and C++), repair, and improvement.

Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Required to sit extensively in a workstation or at equipment (i.e. 60% of time) to complete work using a computer. Repetitive hand/finger movement is required for continuous periods of time. Required at times to handle/push carts containing test equipment and units (>50lbs).

High degree of visual attention and concentration for periods of time (100%) required in the troubleshooting, capturing calibration measurement data, analyzing test data and calibration results.

General office environment for \~25% of time and remainder of time is spent on the production floor troubleshooting equipment calibrating equipment, repairing equipment and manufacturing tools, ESD and calibration compliance, and auditing of manufacturing test equipment and manufacturing tools.
