Transport Manager
Our client is seeking a Transport Manager to join their team. This role involves planning, developing, organizing, directing, and evaluating the operations and budget of the transportation division, including traditional and heavy transportation. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with team members and report directly to the Country Manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing transportation operations, including dispatching, routing, and vehicle tracking
- Developing and implementing transportation policies and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations
- Managing the annual CVIP program and preventative maintenance of equipment
- Managing permit processes and developing route studies
- Establishing key performance indicators to evaluate transportation effectiveness
- Leading investigations to resolve customer complaints
- Training, managing, and appraising transportation staff
- Fostering positive working relationships internally and externally
- Preparing management reports and recommendations
- Recommending capital expenditures for equipment and property
- Participating in union negotiations and grievance settlements
- Coordinating activities with other division managers locally and internationally
Your qualifications include:
- Over 5 years of experience in transportation coordination and management roles
- Experience with traditional transportation, Hydraulic Platform trailers, and Self-Propelled Modular Trailers
- Proven experience in equipment procurement
- Experience working in unionized environments
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Motivated, solution-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset
