What you'll be doing:
- Own and manage the end-to-end reporting process across multiple departments.
- Investigate and resolve issues in existing reports and dashboards across different reporting platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and ensure reports are delivering value.
- Develop and maintain SQL and Python scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations in Power BI.
- Document data flows, reporting logic, and known issues to build organizational data knowledge.
- Partner with IT, operations, and business units to ensure data accuracy and reporting consistency.
- Work side by side with the Data Architect to ensure data quality is at the forefront.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in reporting workflows.
- Support or help build solutions using Microsoft services including the Power Platform and Fabric.
- Work with the rest of the IT team to deliver excellent support services on a variety of issues, including support other IT functions when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Initially, this role will manage the process; management of staff will come over time.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor in Data Science/Computer Science or related.
- Must have 3 years of experience in this space and have worked for mid to large organizations.
- Experience using Microsoft services including the Power Platform and Fabric.
- Solid experience with Python for data analysis and scripting.
- Familiarity with data governance, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience working with data warehouses in other organizations.
- Previous experience in a role with cross-departmental exposure or reporting ownership.
- Strong SQL skills -- able to write complex queries and optimize performance.
- Solid experience with Python for data analysis and scripting.
- Excellent skills in Power BI -- creating dashboards, managing data sources, DAX, etc.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills -- ability to track down the root cause of data/reporting issues.
- Strong communication skills -- ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple reporting requests and deadlines.
- The ability to build strong collaborative relationships with team members at all levels.
- Proven ability to ensure and maintain confidentiality of information and records.
