AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing \& Creative Services, the purpose of this position is to play a key role in supporting departmental marketing initiatives at the City of Brampton. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will contribute to the development and execution of marketing plans aimed at promoting Brampton's offerings and attracting diverse audiences. Responsibilities include analyzing campaign performance, providing valuable insights for future strategies, and conducting ongoing research to inform decision-making within the Strategic Communications division. The efforts will help drive engagement, enhance brand visibility, and support the city's broader goals.
Marketing activities. Collaborate regularly with the internal divisions to ensure a clear and accurate representation of the department's vision and direction is apparent in all marketing communications. Supervise the planning and implementation of all marketing, public relations, publications programs to reach pre-determined goals to attract domestic and international businesses and support Council's strategic objectives. Oversee and maximize marketing campaigns and social media advertising campaigns. Shape the public perception of Brampton through the execution of brand identity in print, publications, electronic media, media relations, public events, and physical spaces. Lead initiatives to achieve overarching strategic goals and further develop marketing strategies. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and provide detailed analytics reports with learning that impacts subsequent campaigns. Analyze data to further advance targeted marketing Collaborate with the City's PR and Communication Advisory teams and manage/negotiate with external vendors to increase the local and national profile of the City of Brampton's brand.
Liaise with stakeholders. Maintain internal and external networks and stay current with marketing best practices. Build and maintain relationships with local business communities, media, municipal staff, and other related organizations as appropriate. Clear understanding of the City as it pertains to its value proposition. This position includes an aspect of relationship building through activities such as corporate visits, advocacy, business and community networking, and alliances with other subject matter experts. Liaises and networks with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organizations.
Staff Scheduling and Work Allocation. Ensure proper scheduling and assignment of staff duties. Create and monitor workplace standards for all roles. Provide task assistance and create a healthy team environment. Make certain staff have information, training to meet customer expectations and to comply with all City Human Resource and legislated (i.e. Health \& Safety) regulations. Recruit, oversee and provide staff performance evaluations.
Administrative and financial duties. Provide daily supervision of all delivery aspects of marketing support. Prepare and manage budget expenditures and revenues for Marketing section, including preparation of RFPs and vendor contract management. Develop and report on KPIs in conjunction with management. Ensure all Health \& Safety regulations are being met, and that procedures, documentation (i.e. WHMIS) and supplies are in good order.
Management support. Encourage an innovative working environment that enables growth in new technology and marketing practices to ensure the vitality of the City's marketing programs. Provide regular communication and reports on daily operations, customer and staff incidents, and customer feedback. Identify new opportunities, new technologies and applications for consideration. Provide potential solutions to emerging issues.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
EDUCATION:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Communications, Advertising, Sales \& Marketing or closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 to 5 years related experience in marketing, public relations, communications
OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:
- Experience in directing and implementing initiatives in economic development or corporate business development, business attraction, marketing promotion; municipal environment an asset.
- Experience using research to develop sound media strategies, promotional plans and concepts
- Experience recruiting and supervising full-time and part-time staff; ability to lead in a team environment that is unionized
- Customer service orientation
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in English
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft office; other desktop publishing packages an asset
- Experience in working with third party advertisers and media agencies.
Mandatory Requirements
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
