Role description:
The Senior Drainage Design Engineer will lead the design and implementation of drainage and stormwater management systems for major infrastructure projects in Ontario. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
This position sits within our Mobility Global Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today's mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world's growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
This role will be responsible for leading the design and development of effective drainage and stormwater management systems for infrastructure projects. You will provide technical expertise in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater management, and erosion control, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery and ensure all designs comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations and standards. You will work closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate drainage systems into broader project designs, conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure the quality and functionality of drainage systems, and prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and specifications for drainage projects. You will also mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications \& Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in drainage design and stormwater management, with a focus on infrastructure projects
- P.Eng (Professional Engineer) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required
- Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM), CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Openroads), and GIS applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $117,00. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
