The Design Branch within the Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the Hydraulic Design Delivery team located in Saskatoon, Regina, or Prince Albert.
As Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a team responsible for planning project delivery, project forecasting, evaluation, design, contract development, and tendering of projects to replace existing culverts and install new culverts.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting the design delivery team in the delivery of hydraulic design projects;
- Planning, assigning to consultants, and managing project completion by consultants, for culvert program delivery;
- Reviewing and evaluating consultant submissions of design memos, reports, and tender documents and providing feedback to consultants;
- Completing analysis related to design and developing tender documents for assigned projects;
- Requesting, verifying, and analyzing required information such as historical culvert performance, recorded flows, and surveys;
- Completing environmental desktop screenings;
- Preparation and discussion of monthly project forecasting;
- Ensuring consistent application of design standards and contract specifications;
- Updating project information, schedules, and costs in project management software, including e-Builder;
- Representing the Ministry in dealings with private individuals, public agencies, and external stakeholders; and
- Assisting the Director, Manager, and Senior Project Managers in various activities required to deliver Ministry programs.
To qualify for the Project Manager position, you shall possess a degree in engineering from an accredited university and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) or possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and extensive experience.
