Job Description
Your Team:
This role supports and manages the Invesco Global Legal Support Team's (GLST) Board and Proxy teams.
The Board Team manages Corporate Governance matters for Invesco's investment products and maintains relationships with Board members worldwide. It also collaborates with stakeholders to support Boards and prepare materials.
The Proxy Team leads proxy initiatives for Invesco's investment products, including vendor selection and shareholder meeting management, working with stakeholders and third-party vendors.
Your Role:
The Manager will lead a team of legal support professionals overseeing quarterly and ad hoc Board meetings for Invesco's various funds, which include senior executives and industry leaders. The role involves training, supervising, and ensuring high standards.
The Proxy team handles shareholder proxy initiatives from feasibility to shareholder meetings, ensuring strategic execution aligned with Invesco's business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage research, drafting, and preparation of proposals for Board approvals and Proxy votes.
- Coordinate with various departments for product changes and launches.
- Lead the contract renewal process for mutual funds through cross-functional collaboration.
- Review and write board materials for accuracy and consistency.
- Record meeting minutes and train others to do so.
- Develop communication strategies with Boards and distribute materials.
- Assign work based on team members' capabilities and schedules.
- Foster relationships with legal and business partners to ensure quality service.
- Engage with senior legal colleagues and seek feedback for team performance.
- Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate team members.
- Perform senior team duties, including backup responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in finance.
- Leadership experience, preferably managing a team.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of Fund Services policies is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Desire to develop personnel.
- Flexible hours as needed.
