Company:
Canadian industrial manufacturer that produces roll goods and custom cut parts to many industries in North America. They have a large converting facility in Mississauga, Ontario, with several high speed punch presses, laminating machines, re-winders, slitters, band saws, rotary die cutters, CNC machines, travel head presses and several other specialized converting machines.
Role Overview:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Enhance machine performance, minimize downtime, and ensure safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement repairs.
- Handle welding, fabrication, and machining tasks.
- Manage steam boilers and steam lines maintenance.
- Supervise on-site contractors and manage vendor relations.
- Conduct general building maintenance as required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
- Technical school or apprenticeship preferred (but not required).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to create rough sketches for part designs.
- Experience with forklift operation and a clean driving record.
Ideal Experience:
- Textile industry background (not mandatory, training provided).
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments that utilize steam.
