Job Description
Under the supervision of the Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Manager, this role involves executing menu items, maintaining company standards, and adhering to safety and hygiene policies. The position also focuses on creating a safe and welcoming environment for team members, motivating staff, and supporting learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items in a timely manner following standardized recipes.
- Manage food requirements, including ordering and inventory.
- Set up mise en place, including garnishes, sauces, and utensils.
- Clean kitchen equipment after use according to safety policies.
- Receive, label, store, and rotate stock appropriately.
- Participate in inventory and culinary meetings as required.
- Communicate effectively with operational departments and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health, safety, and statutory regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma; culinary education is an asset.
- At least 3 years of progressive culinary experience.
- Red Seal certification or current enrollment is an asset.
- Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Work Environment
Kitchen environment requiring standing and walking for long periods, with non-traditional hours.
