Job DescriptionThe Calgary Water team is delivering projects in Water and Sewer Hydraulic Analysis and Modelling, , Conveyance System Design, System Optimization, Operational Studies/Improvements and, Rehabilitation, Condition Assessment and Asset Management.
To address the growing market in wastewater and water analysis and project implementation, we are looking for a self-motivated engineering professional with progressively responsible experience in water hydraulic modelling, planning, study and conveyance system design and project management. The preferred candidate will have a bachelors or masters degree in (Civil) Engineering, hydraulic engineering or similar, licensing as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Support the management of conveyance projects with open cut or trenchless technologies.
Support the development of design drawings, specifications and technical reports. Ability to Coordinate with Other AECOM office to deliver projects,Support quality control procedures
Support the preparation of project work plans, budgets and proposals.Oversee and review the compilation and preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, schedules of quantities, measurement of payment items.Liaison with internal and external clients.Support project design and execution
Support project delivery against established budgets, schedules, and quality expectations
Engage corporate safety policies and programs
Preparation of studies and reports for municipal infrastructure and/or industrial development permit applications
Support site inspections and construction Quality Assurance and assist with construction contract administration as required
Oversee and manage construction phases of projects (in consultant's role) to ensure works are completed by Contractor to project specifications, on time and on budget; this includes performing construction site inspections and construction contract administration
Serves as lead engineer on mid to large-size projects. Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. Approves and signs off on work.
Provides technical support for studies and design efforts. Participates in the development of technical proposals. Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field2 years of experience demonstrated equivalency of experience or education will be considered. Desired Qualifications:Must be familiar with Municipal gravity sewer and feeder mains design and construction standards. Must have worked on municipal projects of pressurized or gravity conveyance projects
Familiarity with Project Management tools and methodologies is a strong asset.5 years of experience in a related field.
