CA$60,000.00/yr - CA$65,000.00/yr
Description:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes with accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality. This role ensures timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices, maintains up-to-date records of all financial transactions, and plays a key role in maintaining positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Process all entities' invoices accurately and on time.
- Process employee expense reports and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Prepare credit card reconciliations for separate business units and assist with intercompany chargebacks
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments (EFT, wire transfers, Cheques).
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable files and records.
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and respond to inquiries.
- Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all expenses are recorded in the correct period.
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment status and resolve issues as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Assist with other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Lone Wolf) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
