About the Role:
This is a new and pivotal role reporting directly to the Vice President of Distribution Centre Operations for Eastern Canada. As the Director, Project Management, you will be instrumental in driving and supporting numerous projects across our distribution network, ensuring alignment with our core values: Customer, Colleague, Compliance, Collaboration, and Cost (the 5 C's). You will play a key role in moving these projects to successful completion, identifying opportunities for network performance enhancements, and leading initiatives that promote culture, inclusion, and diversity within our distribution centers (DCs) particularly through our Women in Supply Chain initiative.
This role can be based at our Ajax, East Gwillimbury, or Cambridge Distribution Centres, or at our head office in Brampton.
What you will will do:
- Project Leadership \& Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Assign tasks, facilitate communication, and ensure collaboration within project teams and with stakeholders. Proactively identify and resolve project issues, making timely and informed decisions to maintain momentum. Communicate project progress, risks, and challenges to stakeholders.
- Strategic Initiative Development \& Implementation: Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of process improvements. Partner with engineering and technology teams to integrate new automation technologies and systems into warehouse operations.
- Performance Monitoring \& Reporting: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure project success. Establish robust reporting mechanisms to track progress, analyze data trends, and communicate performance metrics to stakeholders. Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide visibility into operational performance and highlight areas for further optimization.
- Change Management \& Training: Lead change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of Projects and technology upgrades. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging employee engagement and participation in improvement initiatives.
- Diversity, Equity \& Inclusion (DEI) Leadership: Support the Vice-President (Executive Lead for Supply Chain Inclusion and Culture) in creating and executing a diverse strategy aligned with our DEI and Culture goals. Lead initiatives related to Go Further Women, a Supply Chain initiative designed to encourage and support women in Supply Chain Operations.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 4-8 years of experience in process improvement, operations management, or supply chain management, preferably in a large warehouse environment.
- The ideal candidate would see this role as a development opportunity to enhance their operational experience and aspires progress to a more senior role in the next 2-5 years.
- Experience working on the floor of a large distribution center, manufacturing facility, or food processing facility is highly desirable.
- Candidates with consulting experience from a recognized consultancy, focusing on Distribution Centre projects, will also be considered.
- Ideally, a post-secondary education in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience working with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion employee groups as an operational lead is an asset.
- Proven track record of successfully leading process improvement projects and driving operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation technologies is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
Travel Requirements:
- Extensive travel will be required to other facilities in our network during the first 12 months. This may include international travel. Ongoing travel will be a component of this role.
