Let's solve the big problems together. Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Completion of Quality Assurance and Quality Control materials testing services on-site for various construction projects within Peterborough and the surrounding areas.
- Conducting compaction testing during site grading and backfilling operations, including sampling soil and aggregates for laboratory analysis.
- Concrete and asphalt sampling and testing for various building and infrastructure projects.
- Support field staff in investigative work including concrete coring, specialized testing, test pit investigations, and site data collection.
What you will bring to the team:
- Preference for enrollment in, or graduating from, a civil, geotechnical, or engineering program. Other relevant education and industry work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service communication skills.
- The capacity and willingness to learn new skills and testing procedures.
- Access to a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license to carry out daily site inspections.
- Competent with the use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
- Ability to lift and carry 23.7 kg (50 lbs.)
- Willingness to work a regular 40-hour work week and possible overtime up to a limit of 13 hours total per day.
- Willingness to travel up to 200 km per day using a personal vehicle.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
