Position Objective
The Translation Network, a Ministry of Health-funded program hosted by Niagara Health, is seeking a translator to provide English to French translation services of public-facing resources for healthcare providers across Ontario. The successful candidate will translate various documents into French, ensure quality control of translations by freelance translators, proofread formatted translations, create terminology records and lexicons, and liaise with clients and freelance translators. The position is based at the Welland Site, with remote work possibilities.
Qualifications
- University degree in translation from a recognized institution or accreditation from a recognized professional translators association
- Three years of recent experience in translation and revision from English to French
- Superior oral and written communication skills in English and French
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and research skills
- Effective interpersonal, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of health terminology and the Ontario healthcare system
- Familiarity with Logiterm
- Consistent and regular attendance
