Position Overview
We are seeking a temporary, onsite KCCS Finance Assistant for up to 18 months to cover maternity leave, working 40 hours per week. The primary responsibility is to assist the Finance Department in recording and reconciling the Society's financial details.
Responsibilities
- Lead offering counts and prepare deposits, including cash, cheques, and credit card transactions.
- Input Society contributions and maintain the donor database, updating donor information as needed.
- Process Accounts Payable, verify G/L coding, and authorize payments.
- Manage cheque runs, distribute cheques, and process credit card payments.
- Reconcile EFT payments, assist with deposit entries, bank transfers, and journal entries.
- Record utility invoices, wire transfers, merchant fees, and pre-authorized payments.
- Organize and scan financial documentation, maintain files, and assist with yearly charitable tax receipts.
- Prepare deposit sheets and bags, and request service for office equipment.
- Provide front desk reception coverage when needed.
Qualifications \& Skills
- Alignment with KCCS Foundational Beliefs.
- 2-3 years of practical accounting and office experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently and as part of a team, and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software.
