The Edmonton Country Club, Alberta's first private golf club (est. 1896), has recently completed a major course renovation that positions us among the province's premier private clubs.
We are seeking an energetic and skilled Food \& Beverage Manager to lead the department and deliver exceptional service to our members. Position Summary
As a senior leader in the organization, you will reflect the quality and character of the club through honour, service, ability, and fairness. You'll lead by example, earn the respect of members and staff alike, and play an essential role in elevating our hospitality experience.
This role requires a hands-on leader who builds rapport with members, fosters a welcoming and professional environment, and inspires a team culture of excellence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence
- Implement and improve policies, procedures, and objectives for the department
- Maintain high visibility and authentic member engagement
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and club policies
- Oversee the successful delivery of Food \& Beverage across all outlets: casual dining, fine dining, events, meetings, and the snack shack
Leadership \& Team Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and support a motivated team focused on delivering exceptional service
- Foster a respectful, safe, and inclusive workplace culture
- Ensure your team has the tools, knowledge, and support needed to succeed
- Create and maintain effective schedules aligned with budget expectations
- Lead regular departmental meetings and ensure clear, consistent communication among staff and with members
- Develop and manage the department's operating budget
- Monitor performance and implement corrective actions when needed
- Oversee ordering, inventory control, and cost management
- Maintain accurate billing and member charge processes
- Build strong relationships with suppliers for optimal pricing and quality
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to drive the long-term success of the Food \& Beverage department, focusing on operational excellence, innovation, and member satisfaction.
- Introduce creative programs and events to enhance member engagement, such as wine tastings, chef's tables, live performances, and other special events.
- Conduct regular inspections of all Food \& Beverage facilities and equipment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and optimal function; proactively identify opportunities for improvement
- Help implement our strategic plan as it relates to the department and provide thoughtful input into future capital planning, including maintenance and aspirational priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in Food \& Beverage management
- Experience in a private club setting is preferred; experience in upscale restaurants, resorts, hotels, or other golf facilities may also be considered
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality, food, wine, and creating exceptional experiences
- Knowledge or interest in golf is an asset
- Candidates must be flexible and available to work hospitality hours based on business needs. This includes morning and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays, depending on scheduled events and functions
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration or Hospitality
- Wine \& Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certifications are an asset
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. The Edmonton Country Club is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
Compensation
- This position offers strong compensation, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and reflective of the role's seniority and responsibilities within a leading private club environment.

- The preferred start date will be June 15 - July 1, 2025
