Position Overview
NCSG Crane \& Heavy Haul Services Ltd is currently accepting applications for a Journeyman Taxi Crane Operator . This position is based out of Fort St. John, BC to support the branch and surrounding area. The Taxi Crane Operator is responsible for effectively performing lifting and rigging services, specifically taxi work and occasional project work. Wage will be based on the Crane Rental Collective Agreement. Additionally, NCSG will contribute to unionized Health and Wellness, Pension, and Training Plans.

Your Success Will Be Determined By Your Ability To
- Assemble and disassemble cranes
- Know and follow road and crane regulations
- Perform pre-operational inspections, hazard assessments, and calculate crane capabilities and weights for rigging and hoisting
- Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position equipment and materials
- Perform routine maintenance
- Represent the company professionally, resolve customer concerns, and adhere to site rules
- Communicate effectively and interact professionally
- Remain alert and maintain concentration
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Understand equipment operations and limitations
- Make minor repairs as needed
Qualifications
- Journeyman Red Seal Mobile Crane Certification
- 3rd Year Apprentices considered based on experience
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean abstract
- CSO, First Aid, H2S Alive, Bear Awareness, and Fall Protection certifications required
Experience Required
- Taxi crane experience required
- Experience with AT Taxi with Dolly up to 275 Ton preferred, operating Liebherr, Tadano, and Groves
- Experience operating Manitex boom trucks and rough terrain cranes
- Competency checks will be required
Position Details
- Must be or willing to join Operating Engineers Local 115 Union; current members must be in good standing
- Local preferred; if not local, willing to relocate
- Own reliable transportation required
