Role Overview
We are seeking a personable and confident Accounting Clerk to join our small but dynamic finance team. The role involves handling accounting processes such as payables and receivables and serving as the first point of contact for the APSEA Central Office, providing friendly customer service both in person and over the phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Use APSEA's accounting system to prepare Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable invoices accurately and promptly.
- Receive and securely handle payments, including cheques, cash, and POS transactions.
- Serve as the first point of contact for phone inquiries and visitors.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal staff.
Qualifications
- Completed a business diploma in accounting or a related field (or recognized equivalent).
- At least two years of experience in an accounting environment, including use of accounting systems with functions like purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
- Knowledge of accounting best practices, especially processing receivables and payables.
- Proficiency in data entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft 365.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Proficiency in French.

Compensation
$43,784.00 - $48,988.00 per year
