Position Overview
This is a temporary summer position for a student or a new graduate.
As a direct contributor on the Business Process Improvement (BPI) team, you will be engaged in a collaborative approach to drive process innovation and optimization within our North American Life Reinsurance business and challenge the status quo. You will get experience working with professional process improvement professionals, learning the trade of optimizing processes and driving efficiency within an organization. This includes learning and working in business process mapping and process mining to enhance our business processes and workflows. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for innovation and is excited about learning about process optimization and process engineering.
Your Role:
First and foremost, you will demonstrate a natural desire to provide exceptional client service through your energy, enthusiasm, initiative and innovation focus. The current objectives for this role are the:
- Inputting and development of an online process inventory. Here you will learn how to create complex process maps that integrate both system and human elements into a design understandable to the business.
- Process mining data from various sources for the measurement of processes.
- Compilation, data cleansing and data harmonization across sources for the BPI team to analyze.
- Ideate on potential improvement approaches and workflow developments.
Your Profile:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or Master's Degree in a technical or business field (e.g. Business, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
- Fast learner and adept at learning new technologies and platforms.
- Exceptional qualitative/quantitative analysis skills.
- Effective relationship building skills.
- A confident presenter with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal direction / supervision.
- Must be extremely accurate and detail orientated and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Preferred skills but not mandatory:
- Experience in understanding workflows
- Understanding of statistics, distributions and data analysis.
