Join our Team
Under the Clinic Operations Leader's guidance, the Medical Photographer will perform medical photography while maintaining patient safety practices. They will liaise with clinic staff, physicians, and administrators to ensure effective service delivery.
Impact and Goals:
The Medical Photographer will work with colleagues, patients, students, and partners to provide timely, efficient service adhering to TELUS Health standards and professional practices.
They will operate specialized dermatoscopic imaging equipment to capture high-resolution images of skin lesions, supporting early detection and prevention of skin cancers. Accuracy and meticulous data management are essential.
Collaborating closely with dermatologists, they will provide data for diagnostics and treatment planning, guide patients through procedures, and ensure their comfort, contributing to high-quality patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications
Responsibilities include:
- Patient photography and positioning
- Independent and team work to fulfill responsibilities
- Training other medical photographers
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient, employee, and client information
- Effective communication with diverse audiences
- Maintaining and troubleshooting photographic equipment
Candidate requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma/certification with 3-5 years experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field
- Professional accreditation or certification
- Knowledge of photographic and medical photography equipment and formats
- Proficiency in digital photography, image enhancement, and software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear communication and problem-solving skills
- Patient-first, empathetic approach, team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred additional qualifications:
- Experience in clinical or forensic photography
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Certificate in Melanography
