Project Manager Senior
Under limited guidance, organizes, tracks, and champions the design and development of assigned products. Uses advanced knowledge of products, project management, and best practices to manage multiple complex, high-risk projects, ensuring that new products are completed according to specifications, schedule, and budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a resource and mentor to less experienced program managers, providing guidance on best practices and problem resolution.
- Reviews project plans and proposals; collaborates with management to develop project objectives; identifies project responsibilities and phases.
- Determines project schedules and timelines based on project plans and specifications.
- Partners with marketing to define requirements for new products or platforms.
- Collaborates with engineering management to allocate technical resources and manages outside technical resources as needed.
- Monitors and controls project plans, reviews changes, and recommends actions to improve outcomes; manages project costs and budgets.
- Advocates for the design team, identifying and resolving potential roadblocks.
- Addresses manufacturing, operations, purchasing, technology, and design issues to ensure project success.
- Tracks milestones and deliverables; maintains project documentation.
- Communicates with stakeholders; prepares status reports and recommends actions for improvement.
- Establishes testing plans and success criteria; coordinates product transfer to production.
- Conducts training for customer service on new products.
- Evaluates project success and drives process improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering projects, objectives, costs, timelines, and resources.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Advanced technical knowledge and design experience related to core technologies used in similar product lines.
- Strong project management skills for leading complex, cross-functional, high-risk projects.
- Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage projects proactively, troubleshoot problems, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to develop documentation and work with teams.
- Salary range: $120,000 - $135,000 annually.
