Receiving Associate : Part Time - BURNABY

Position Overview:
Receiving Associates work as part of a team to unload merchandise from carriers, check the quantity and quality of merchandise, and enter information into the store's system. They must be licensed to operate powered lift equipment such as electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, order pullers, and forklifts. A successful Receiving Associate has a high level of work commitment, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and follow procedures. Freight team associates may also be responsible for order picking using the Order Fulfillment Application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Merchandise: Unloading freight, following carrier unload processes, inspecting and verifying inbound freight, and maintaining the receiving area.
- Handling Merchandise: Stocking shelves, merchandising, building displays, disposing of trash, and ensuring safety procedures.
- Determining and Meeting Customer Needs: Greeting customers, engaging with open-ended questions, and understanding their needs.
Competencies and Skills:
Attention to detail, integrity, effective communication, safety orientation, shipping and receiving, stocking, and forklift operation.
Physical and Working Conditions:
Includes lifting, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, working in dusty/noisy environments, and handling hazardous materials.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year receiving experience
- Forklift experience considered an asset
Additional Information:
Pay range: $20.00 - $21.75 per hour.
