The opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Registrations, Wellington-Altus Private Wealth offers a Compliance Summer Student position within our Compliance Registrations team. The role involves providing administrative support and gaining exposure to the compliance framework, reporting, data validation, and special projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in the wealth management industry, focusing on risk management, regulatory changes, and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and responding to compliance registration inbox inquiries.
- Maintaining internal folders and preparing necessary documents.
- Collaborating with securities commissions and following up as needed.
- Assisting with data collection, analysis, and creating visualizations to interpret data and identify opportunities.
- Inputting data into internal databases and performing reconciliation tasks.
- Participating in special projects and internal initiatives with the Compliance Registration team.
- Supporting ad-hoc research requests and project tasks.
- Contributing to planning, process development, and project execution.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Current enrollment at a post-secondary institution as a first or second-year student, available full-time over the summer.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
- Dependability, integrity, competence, and a strong work ethic.
- A detail-oriented approach emphasizing accuracy and confidentiality.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills for independent and collaborative work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
