We are seeking a proactive and experienced Industry Claims Manager to develop and maintain a consistent approach to claims management across the industry, ensuring collaboration and consistency amongst employers along with their third-party claims contractors.
Responsibilities
- Develop \& Maintain Industry-Wide Claims Management Strategy: Ensure a unified and consistent approach to claims management across the industry, promoting seamless collaboration with third-party contractors.
- Identify Best Practices: Identify successful approaches within the industry regarding claims management and integrate them into the industry's standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Collaborate with Third-Party Claims Experts: Develop and maintain a comprehensive SOP with third-party experts, ensuring that all contractors are aligned with industry standards.
- Stay Up-to-Date on Ongoing Claims: Maintain regular communication with contractors to stay informed about ongoing claims, especially those that are complex or require special attention/appeal.
- Oversee BCMEA claims as the injury employer
- Enhance Return to Work (RTW) Programs: Work with contractors and company representatives to improve and synchronize Return to Work (RTW) programs across the industry leverage best practices.
- Develop Meaningful Modified Work Options: Explore and implement new ways to provide meaningful modified work options to injured workers, ensuring they are reintegrated into the workforce safely and efficiently.
- Vocational Rehabilitation Program Integration : Oversee and manage vocational rehabilitation programs with industry: Assisting injured workers in training for alternative roles where appropriate, to facilitate their return to full employment.
- Develop robust industry Job description Analysis (JDA) database
- RTW Plan Development : Lead and chair a working group that meets regularly to discuss and resolve complex claims, review the effectiveness of RTW programs, and ensure that vocational rehab options are being utilized where applicable.
Qualifications
- Strong background in claims management.
- Proven experience working with third-party claims management contractors and managing complex claims.
- Expertise in vocational rehabilitation and integrating it into RTW programs.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective standard operating procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of Return to Work programs and strategies.
- In depth knowledge of Worker's Compensation legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise across multiple stakeholders.
- Labour Relations professionals will be considered for the role
- Experience in a Federal Unionized environment
