Join our team today!Job DescriptionUnder the direction/supervision of the clinical team, you will perform direct patient services tasks.Accountabilities:Assisting with patient activities of daily living, mobilization and transportEncourage and support patients in their own care and rehabilitation to foster a sense of autonomy. Observe and document changes in patient condition and mental status; they will report any concerns to the nursing team.Communicate effectively with patients, families and other healthcare professionals, ensuring clear an accurate information sharing.Follow care plans delegated to them by nursing team within their scope of practice.Maintain a safe environment- they are involved in ensuring a space that adheres with universal falls precautions.Communicate need to clerical or resource staff to order suppliesResponsible for daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areasMaintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipmentContributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment QualificationsRegistered with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA)Personal support worker certificate required from an accredited institutionBasic knowledge of aseptic techniquesCurrent CPRRecent related experience working with patients in a rehabilitation settingRecent experience working in a highly technical patient care environmentExcellent organizational and prioritization skillsExcellent interpersonal, communication and comprehension skillsFlexibility to meet unit needsAbility to work well with team membersBasic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech systemMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationExcellent attendance, punctuality and work recordAbility to travel between and work at all Osler sites as requiredAble to handle physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 25-30 pounds)Additional InformationCurrently Days/Evenings, 8 hours including weekends and statutory holidays
