Role Summary:
The incumbent ensures catering standardization and that all food preparation meets or exceeds established requirements. The First Cook Lead oversees preparation and cooking of products and ensures adherence to quality standards and presentation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and modify menus in collaboration with the Catering Manager and Supervisor
Prepare all aspects of the food production for catering according to established standards
Coordinates with flight catering leads ensuring each section of the kitchen understands their specific duties and timelines
Delegates and assigns tasks with other First Cooks
Assist with training and guiding of new kitchen staff
Oversee kitchen inventory management, including ordering and stock rotation
Must haves:
Combination of culinary apprenticeship and experience exceeding 5 years
Valid Drivers License
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations
Experience in maintaining records or food time/temperatures logs, food costing reports, consumption, sales and inventory
A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities
Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support
Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada
Nice to haves:
Valid Food Safe, WHMIS and First Aid
Ability to comfortably operate a 5-ton truck
