Job Description: As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.

Experience
Min. 5 years working with clients with severe & persistent mental illness
Min. five years recent experience in a community or acute mental health setting
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
Other Education and Training
Professional Assault Response Training (PART)
Nursing diploma is acceptable
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Workplace Assessment & Violence Education (WAVE)
Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
