What Would You Do?
Palliser Furniture Ltd. is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Foamshop 2 (bandsaw Cutting Operator). The successful candidate will be part of the packing team and contribute to the efficiency of our operation.
The duties and responsibilities of this position would include:
Foamshop Cutter entry level will operate bandsaw machines and horizontal/ vertical slitter machines to cut foam bun into blocks, slabs, skins, and slicing foam to right size.
Check in the foamshop app and/ or supervisor for a cutting priority sequence.
Request a foam bun to designated forklift driver and/ or supervisor.
Ensure double check measurement of the actual foam sizes vs. job file before cutting.
Manually cut foam on the Bandsaws as per specifications.
Enter measurements into Slitter computer and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Apply glue to join foam pieces to create a bigger offcut.
Scan job file to print ticket location if applicable.
Deliver cut pieces to the next station or designated staging/ roller location.
Organization and always keeping the workplace clean.
Able to assist in other areas if needed.
Able to cross-train to other cutting machines to be eligible to move to the next level.
Other foam-related projects as requested by management.

Experience using Olfa utility knife, screw gun, tape gun, and lift table.
Ability to stand, crouch, bend, reach, and stoop for long periods of time.
Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
Capable of lifting, carrying, and maneuvering: 40 lbs. (18.1 kg) from the floor to waist; 40 lbs (18.1 kg) from waist to shoulder; 40 lbs (18.1 kg) above the shoulder.
